What is Reiki?

Reiki - Universal Life Energy

The Kanji for Reiki combines the words Rei - Spirit with Ki (Chi) - Life Energy. Reiki is a hands on healing practice where a practitioner lays their hands on the body and stimulates the bodies ability to heal. Reiki can heal anything, and heals on levels; mind, body, and spirit. Reiki practice has its roots in Buddhist principles, so Reiki Practitioners strive to live better and radiate light and wisdom. Our ultimate goal is to be like the Miko (Shrine Maidens,) those who communicate with the gods, and mediate their will. For our purposes, we strive to live within a spiritual path, and share the Light and Comfort given to us by our Reiki Practice. The Usui Reiki Ryoho is a gift of Usui-sensei’s enlightenment, which he hoped to share with the world. As Practitioners we strive to carry on his Legacy and Teachings.

Reiki and Energy Healing

Everyone has within them the ability to work with, sense, and heal with energy. Practitioners have simply learned how to harness, direct, and focus healing energy. We have a developed sense of health and wellness, a way to recognize dis-ease in the mental, physical, and spiritual body, and how to release it. As Reiki Practitioners, we are attuned to work with and focus energy as taught by Usui-sensei, who described Reiki as a psychic healing practice with the ability to heal the physical body.

Why Reiki?

Reiki is a non-invasive, non-manipulative practice that is safe for everyone. One of the main tenants of this practice is that it “can do no harm.” We can guide and focus the healing energy, but Reiki will go to where it is most needed. It’s really as simple as placing the hands on the body and relaxing. Practicing Reiki is really comfortable and fun. The only things required for a successful Reiki treatment are a practitioner attuned to Reiki Practice, and that the recipient is relaxed and comfortable. And if after your first treatment you love receiving Reiki, it is very easy to learn, and you can do it for yourself. Daily Self Practice is encouraged for all Practitioners.

What to expect

Reiki is a hands on practice, so talk to your Practitioner about your comfortable level. Accommodations can be made. When you come for the first session, time is added in for pre-consultation and questions. You won’t be rushed out after any treatment, 30 minutes have been allotted after each session for you to relax and re-orient. Do not jump right off the table! I’ve done it and it’s not a great idea. Not everyone has the same experience while receiving treatment. Some people say they feel like they are floating, some feel lighter and more aware, and some feel nothing at all. The amazing thing about Reiki is that you don’t have to believe its working for it to work and there is no bad or wrong experience. You may not notice any immediate changes, but over time you may notice subtle changes to your mind and body. The goal is to relax the body, re-open ourselves to spirit, and bring our body, mind, and soul back into harmony for a more meaningful and happier life.

Reiki Practice really blends and plays well with other healing practices. Because of how minimal and profound Reiki is, it can be used with any practice. Combine it with Crystals for more dynamic healing. Reiki after a Reading, Channeling. or Consultation to really cement whatever messages or lessons came through. Massages feel deeper, Detoxes feel more cleansing, Meditations with the added benefit of releasing physical tension. It’s just really cool. I can’t imagine my life or my work without it.

Custom Reiki + Healing Treatment:
