Understanding Chakras
When talking about Chakras we are typically discussing 7 points in the body, from the crown of the head to the pelvis, that are thought to be Power Centers. These 7 points, rays of light, or auric centers, represent different Archetypal Energies that affect our personalities and the way we relate to others. They are typically described as being opened or closed, or receptive & unreceptive. The Chakras are; the Root (pelvis), the Sacral (lower abdomen), the Solar Plexus (sternum), the Heart (heart), the Throat (throat), the Third Eye (center of forehead), & the Crown (top of the head.) These are the main Chakras used & healed in most healing sessions.
The word “Chakra” means “Wheel” & they function like gears moving energy in and out of the body. There are many other chakra points in the body, such as the ones in the Hands & Feet, but the main 7 Chakras lie along the spine and serve as the connection between us, the Earth, & the Divine. No chakra is ever fully “off.” Like any gear or machinery they can slow down, get gunked up, or just need a tune up. Healers understand how the different Chakras affect the body & with a simple consultation, or a body scan, can easily fix you right up.
The Chakras, as we use them, are strongly linked to color, with each Chakra being assigned a Color Spectrum. Reds, Oranges, & Yellows being how we see ourselves & take action (Root, Sacral, & Solar.) Blues, Indigo, & Violets being how we relate to others (Throat, Third Eye, Crown.) The Heart (Greens & Pinks), being the feelings center, bridges our sense of self with how we treat others. Keeping these energy centers “open” & free of gunk has been shown to enhance peoples clarity, peace of mind, motivation, & an offer renewed willingness to keep pushing forward.
